iWriter Review - Should I Consider Writing Articles for iWriter? what is Iwirter

Should I consider writing articles for iWriter? This is a question I asked myself this morning when an email plopped into my junk folder from an internet guru. Advising how to get immediate increase in business, he extolled the virtues of iWriter. As an article writer myself with a couple of blogs, I was interested to find out from both sides of the coin, so decided to do my own iWriter Review - Should I consider writing articles for iWriter?

From the get-go, the iWriter site is easy to navigate and gives clear, step-by-step video instructions on how to proceed if you are a requester seeking an original article, and what to do if you are a writer seeking to earn money from article writing. The tone is friendly and inviting and is appealing to both writer and user alike.

My email informed me that iWriter has been available to the general public for 2 months, that "383,192 articles have been written, 26,072 jobs posted and 22,000 writers are waiting to write for you". An amazing result in such a short space of time!

Ok, so far, so good. But it feels like something is wrong with this picture - so what's my problem? Should I consider writing articles for iWriter or not?

I decided to try iWriter for myself. I joined up and went through the tutuorial for writers and here is my own personal iWriter Article Review :-

1) The set-up. iWriter is heavily geared to the requester. The buyer side of the website invites you to "hire online writers and get articles written for as low as $2 an article". Benefits to the requester include: paying 67 cents per 100 words (according to the email), get articles 5 times faster than other outsourcing providers, and give detailed and specific instructions re the construction of your original article.

2) The service writers. iWriters quite rightly have to prove their mettle but can only apply for the standard writing projects once they have a minimum of 20 ratings (or 20 approved articles), have a total rating score of 4 stars or more, and have not had more than 30% of their total ratings fall below a 3 star rating.

At this point they become Top Writers and can be paid up to $4 per 500 word article and $5-$8 for 700 word articles (or whatever else is offered).

iWriters receive 95% of the fee, which for standard writers is from $1.62 for a 300 word article, $2 + for 500 words and $4+ for a 700 word article, but they must adhere to strict instructions provided by the requester, or risk getting their hard work rejected.

3) Hoops to jump through. The video tutorial was illuminating, to say the least. Picking a project with an article around the keywords "religious, social and advocacy groups and institutions" the tutor took us through the very specific instructions for the article which included things like "We are looking to give an idea of how would texting campaigns work for each industry...talk about the challenges for each industry. If there are no challenges, just introduction on the industry, current client/fan communication initiatives and how texting may change everything..... " (eh?- excuse me?)

Okay....

You do the math here. (remember that each writer has to write a minimum of 20 articles in the $1-$2 dollar range before graduating!) 383,192 articles written in 2 months. Hummm.

The requester gets a researched, totally unique, original content 500 word article for $2.

How the heck that give anybody the promised " power of choice to decide how much money they will earn, how many hours they will work and how many articles they will write" is a bit of a mystery

And would Brad Callen seriously wring his own guts (and time) to produce that kind of 500 word article for $2? You decide!
